NSW: Crowds gather in Sydney for Anzac march=4

The parade was enthusiastically received by young people, who turned out in force to
wave flags and cheer their war heroes.

Geoff Knowles, 35, said he had always tried to share the Anzac spirit with his eight-year-old
daughter Zoe.

"Last year we walked across the beach at dawn to re-enact the Gallipoli landing, so
she understands," he said.

"This is the first time we've come in for the parade. I've come in to share it with her."

Michael Ruhfus, 17, said he had been interested in the Anzac story since learning about
it at school.

"I think it's really important to support everyone here," he said.

"I think (the day) should be pushed.

"I think it needs some sort of revamp - a lot of kids take all of this for granted.

"I've been coming for six years now."

Andrew Everagham, 15, came to watch his grandparents march.

"It's very good (that) a lot of people are coming," he said

"It's a good tradition, we have to keep it up."
