Jane Sanders Novak, 90, a longtime resident of Joliet and motherof Sun-Times syndicated columnist Robert D. Novak, died Friday at herhome in Rockville, Md., after a lingering illness.
Her husband, Maurice P. Novak, a retired executive of theNorthern Illinois Gas Co., died in 1987. They moved to Rockvillefrom Joliet in 1982 to be near their son and his family.
Friends of Mrs. Novak said she was a well-read, intelligent andcaring individual who had a great love for books and people.
