NEW PLATES WILL ADD EXTRA COSTS.(Opinion)

The issuance of new license plates will cost each taxpayer far more than the governor will collect in new licensing fees.

For example, anyone with an EZ pass will have to contact the state to update the license plate(s) number of record. Every month, for a year, the issuance of new license plates will generate thousands of extra telephone calls to EZ Pass. This could cause a logjam, resulting in extended wasted time on hold for the caller.

I am sure state employees who have an EZ Pass will make that call from their desk, spending taxpayer dollars. I am also sure that employees of private industry will update their EZ Pass …
